Assuming that people have the means to settle where they please (which is certainly not true in all cases), why do human beings choose to live where they live? There are many different reasons — they like the scenery, the rental or purchasing cost is right, it's conveniently located near their job, it’s a mark of status and sometimes because there are people like them and they feel more comfortable. By considering these various factors and many more, people are choosing their neighbours, creating the community in which they live and driving the demands of how a city builds itself.
